Ferndale Pride 2020 Has Begun!

2020 profile image

10 years ago, four Ferndalians were determined to keep a pride festival in the city of Ferndale. Over the last 10 years, we have grown our own festival that is free to the public, celebrates Ferndale’s businesses and keeps the spirit of LGBTQAI inclusivity alive in Ferndale and has donated more than $125,000 to local charities.

We can only do this by partnering with businesses like yours. We have created several sponsorship packages to help spotlight your business and to give you the opportunity to give back to the community. In the attached packet you will find details of the packages.  As in the past silver, gold and diamond sponsorships are unlimited.

What’s new? Our ten year commemorative pride guide will give you the opportunity to show off your company with an ad.

Booth Space for Ferndale Pride 2019 is Open

FerndalePride2019 Social Instagram

Ferndale Pride is Ferndale's kickoff to summer celebrating the LGBTQAI communities. Last year, Ferndale Pride brought 25,000 people to the streets of downtown Ferndale to shop, eat and learn about organizations and services that are welcoming to our communities.

This year's street festival will take place Saturday, June 1, 2019.

The festival is the opportunity for your organization or business to engage participants. Each 10x10 booth space is yours to design (see vendor terms and agreements for regulations). Vendors may rent a 10x10 tent with weights and/or one table and two chairs separately from space.  Ferndale Pride doesn’t require you to rent tents, tables and chairs through us.

Registration will take place from January 1, 2019 to May 1, 2019 or until the spaces have sold out.

To take advantage of early bird pricing, you must register by February 28, 2019.

See DJ Dav spin at the Genisys Credit Union Dance Stage at 1:30 PM on Saturday, June 2!

DJ Dav
With almost twenty years of experience, DJ Dav is a true multi-genre DJ. After holding residencies in Lansing (MI), Grand Rapids (MI) and Park City (UT), Dav has found himself back in the Detroit area. The city's influence was apparent almost immediately, as his sets have become more technical and hard hitting. In mid 2014, Dav was asked to be a part of the D3EP Radio Network (www.d3ep.com). During the almost three years he held a residency, Dav posted over 125 mixes. 2015 led to becoming part of the City Air Detroit crew, which throws house/techno parties in Detroit with some of the city's biggest names. DJ Dav, Rosie O'Grady's First Wednesday resident of over four years, is extremely excited to be returning to Ferndale Pride again!

See Chastity Brown headline Ferndale Pride's Main Stage, sponsored by MotorCity Casino Hotel, at 8:00 PM on Saturday, June 2!

Chastity Brown

An artist who can plumb the depths of sadness in a single note, then release it in the very next breath, Chastity Brown melds folk, pop and soul on her Red House debut, Silhouette of Sirens, weaving together a poet’s lyrical ear and a soul-laid-bare quality. The album’s 10 original tracks introduce us to a new voice – a songwriter of power and conviction who isn’t afraid to bare her heart as she sings of heartbreak, need and love. Brown premiered the first single, "Wake Up," with KCMP The Current, which has officially added the song.

Based in Minnesota, but with roots in Tennessee, Chastity grew up surrounded by country and soul music. In the full gospel church of her childhood, she played saxophone and drums and found her singing voice and a passion for music. Her first show was in Knoxville, TN, and then it was on to Minneapolis. Since then, she’s been featured on NPR’s “Favorite Sessions,” CMT, American Songwriter, The London Times, Paste Magazine and others. Chastity has toured the US and abroad, appearing on the UK’s Later…with Jools Holland. For much of 2016, she toured alongside folk icon/ activist Ani Difranco.

“I write for and from the marginalized experience,” Brown says. "For the truly triumphant spirit that’s been through some sh*t, and has fought her/his way through it to maintain a sense of dignity and peace of mind.
